Custom Designed and Built Solar Electric Power Plants
We custom design and build solar electrical power stations to supply 1 MW to 100 MW electrical power. These solar to electrical power generation systems use either photovoltaic solar cells or concentrated solar power by computer controlled heliostats to generate high temperature steam to drive electricity generating turbines.
Solar PV System
Electric power is generated by using solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. Arrays of solar cells of silicon (single crystal, polycrystalline or amorphous silicon) or CIGS (copper indium gallium di selenide) compounds are used to generate electricity. To set up a solar PV power unit, we offer the following choices: (a) provide just the design services, (b) design and build the power unit by supplying photovoltaic cells, modules, and “balance of system” components, or (c) in addition to design and supply of materials, as mentioned in (b), we can install the complete system, that is, a full turn key power system can be provided.Solar Thermal Power System
Electric power is generated by solar thermal steam turbines using heliostat concentrated solar power (CSP) technology. In the solar thermal power generation, the thermal energy collected will be used to generate high temperature steam to drive power turbines for electrical power generation. In an area of 1 square kilometer with an average solar radiation of 1000 W/m2, more than 40 MW of electrical power can be generated.
We have developed designs of highly cost effective CSP systems using the concepts of rapid prototyping of modular heliostat units, efficient solar tracking of heliostats using sophisticated computer programs and robust control and moving systems. Large arrays of sun-tracking heliostats are mounted on the field. These mirrors reflect the solar radiation to a thermal receiver mounted atop a central power tower. The reflected solar radiation from thousands of mirrors is sharply focused on the central absorber tower coated with a proprietary highly solar selective coating on the absorber walls. This results in very high photothermal conversion efficiency to produce high quality steam in large volume. The focused heat boils water within the thermal receiver and produces steam. The plant pipes the steam from each thermal receiver and diverts it to the steam turbine that powers the electric generator. The steam then reverts back to water through cooling tower, and the process repeats. The result is a low cost, highly efficient solar thermal power system.
The modular design allows the easy replication of “central tower – mirror bank” power systems, to construct multiple units of mega watt power systems over larger field areas. Depending on the module design selected, typically each module can deliver power ranging from 1 MW to 40 MW. The process can be scaled up by installing multiple units of the chosen modular design.
We would do the installation of the plant at the site selected by the customer, procuring and integrating all the components of the plant. The components would arrive at the site and assembled by our company’s on-site personnel. After the system is installed, the customer’s staff will be given comprehensive training to safely operate the unit.

The site is 10 acres in size, and is connected to Puerto Rico Electrical Power Authority Grid via a 3.5 MW substation. The secondary voltage needed is 480 V, 3 phase, 60 Hz. Project completion time: 12 months.
